POSTPONED: DUE TO THE EXTREME HEAT ADVISORY, THE MOVIE SCHEDULED FOR MEMORIAL PARK FOR TONIGHT JULY 22, 2011 HAS BEEN CANCELLED AND RE-SCHEDULE FOR FRIDAY JULY 29, 2011 AT 8:30 PM

Attention Maplewood. An alien will land in Memorial Park Amphitheater on Friday, July 22. Don’t be afraid, he’s a very friendly extra-terrestrial.

Back again this year, the Maplewood Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, the Maplewood Village Alliance, and Studio B, will offer Movie Under the Stars at memorial Park this summer. First up the 1982 hit E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial. It’s a family classic and if your kids haven’t seen it yet, now is the time. What better way to watch that adorable little alien ride his bike in front of the moon than to be under it yourself? I was 9-years-old when I saw it in the theater and I loved it. My parents bought me the cutest E.T. doll that I slept with for years after seeing the movie.

Movie Under the Stars: E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial
Who: All ages.
What: Go relive the experience of watching E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial on the big screen with your kids and grandkids! Pack a picnic and enjoy this family classic on a huge outdoor screen.
Where: Memorial Park Amphitheatre, Maplewood, NJ.
When: Friday, July 22 at 8:30 pm.
Cost: Free. No strollers, pets, alcohol, glass bottles or smoking.

I would suggest that before there is any attempt to take over the Shell station property, it be fully vetted by every environmental agency possible; gas station clean ups are lengthy and very expensive - even I Shell would be liable for costs.
