Charlie Brown’s Dumpster Still Full

After getting tips about a full dumpster behind the now-defunct Charlie Brown’s Restaurant in Upper Montclair that has supposedly been sitting there since the place closed last November, we decided to peek around back and have a look for ourselves. This is what we found, as of Wednesday, September 21.

First Ward councilor Rich Murnick told Baristanet that, after receiving an email last night — presumably from the same tipster — he contacted the owner of building. “Hopefully we’ll have it cleared up this weekend,” he said.

In this, the very smallest of stories, that there is garbage in a dumpster, it strikes me that *any* dumpster accessible to the public gets garbage tossed into it. The headline–that the “Charlie Brown’s Dumpster Still Full”–suggests that it had never been emptied. Of course, this could be true, but I’m willing to bet this has been a community effort.

Would someone please change the garbage in this dumpster. I’ve been through it every night and it’s the same old goddam crap, just a bit more rotten than it was last night. This is just no acceptable. For the taxes we pay, we should have fresh garbage every night, all the courses.

“Look beneath your lid some morning
And see the things you didn’t quite consume
The world’s a can for your fresh garbage..”

I think an Eyewitness News Crew was on site filming this last night.

Any clue as to plans for the site, or will it join the growing list of “used to be’s” that we’re seeing here. Maybe Plofker can add the liquor license to his collection… In any other town nature abhors a vacuum, not so in Montclair where it seems difficult to sustain a business amid so much apparent affluence.

Ciscere’s liqueur licence is the low hanging fruit right now. His building won’t be worth as much with out one. Try it before it’s gone.
