Nutley resident Silas Mountsier will be opening up his private garden again this year under the Garden Conservancy’s Open Days program.
This extraordinary garden, which features garden rooms, a bamboo grove, geometric hornbeams, Japanese forest grass, a huge hill of liriope, and 180 outdoor art objects, will be open to the public tomorrow, April 23, from 10am to 4pm, 205 Rutgers Place. The price is a mere $5; no reservations needed.
Designed to introduce gardening to the public, the Open Days program is the only national private garden-visiting program. Viewings take place across the country throughout the year. You can see the schedule here.
