International Jazz Day “Watermelon Man” by Jazz House Kids

Last night, in celebration of Jazz Apreciation Month, Christian McBride and Melissa Walker marked the worldwide celebration of International Jazz Day in New York with Herbie Hancock and other jazz greats at the United Nations, Jazz House Kids had some special activities in Montclair too.  Capping off a successful “I Love Jazz” series this week, Jazz House Kids students and friends were videoed performing Hancock’s “Watermelon Man.”  Musicians performed at the Salvation Army Montclair Citadel Sanctuary.

Soloists were Wallace Roney Jr. – Trumpet, Liam Werner – Trumpet, Alex Laurenzi – Alto, Theo Walentiny – Piano, Julian Lee – Alto, Zoe Obadia – Alto
