Essex County Dems Mourns Loss of Phil Thigpen

Phil Thigpen, longtime Essex County Democratic chairman died yesterday at 87. Thigpen served as an East Orange councilman, an Essex County freeholder and, since 2010, as the county’s elected register of deeds. According to the Star Ledger, Thigpen, in 2012, cast New Jersey’s 14 electoral votes for President Obama as president of the state’s Electoral College. Continue Reading

More than 100 people came out to see Gov. Chris Christie at Bloomfield’s Nevada Diner yesterday. Christie shook hands and posed with Bloomfield Line B candidates. Up for grabs next Tuesday are one seat for Bloomfield mayor, three seats on the Bloomfield Township Council, and three seats for the Bloomfield BOE.
