Essex County To Offer Classes On The Birds, The Bees, And Love Potions

bluebirdThey certainly appear to be prepping for Valentine’s Day over there in the County Executive’s office…offering classes on birding, beekeeping, and even an essential oil love potion workshop.

And there’s more. Throughout February, the Essex County Environmental Center is offering a variety of classes to teach adults (and older children) about nature and the environment. There are courses on everything from chair yoga, to seed starting, to creating art from found wood.

The Harlem WizardsSave the date! The Harlem Wizards are coming to Montclair on Saturday, March 22!

The event, organized by The Watchung PTA and sponsor Roberta Baldwin and The Baldwin Dream Team at Keller Williams NJ Metro Group, will have The Harlem Wizards vs. The Montclair Magic at Montclair High School. The Montclair Magic team will be made up of teachers, principals, parents, and community leaders district-wide.

They will take on the Wizards in a fun and entertaining game including a half-time show featuring Hillside School’s Drums of Thunder!

We’re sad to report that Robert Stephen Hurt of Montclair passed away in his sleep on Monday, January 27th, in his home.

Hurt, a former basketball star at Montclair High School, was also known as “Bobby Smooth.”

Hurt, 51,  was an assistant coach of the Montclair High School varsity basketball team, and head coach of the Montclair junior varsity basketball team for many years. He also worked as a security guard in the district, and ran a summer basketball camp. Continue Reading
