Essex County To Offer Classes On The Birds, The Bees, And Love Potions

bluebirdThey certainly appear to be prepping for Valentine’s Day over there in the County Executive’s office…offering classes on birding, beekeeping, and even an essential oil love potion workshop.

And there’s more. Throughout February, the Essex County Environmental Center is offering a variety of classes to teach adults (and older children) about nature and the environment. There are courses on everything from chair yoga, to seed starting, to creating art from found wood.

We’re sad to report that Robert Stephen Hurt of Montclair passed away in his sleep on Monday, January 27th, in his home.

Hurt, a former basketball star at Montclair High School, was also known as “Bobby Smooth.”

Hurt, 51,  was an assistant coach of the Montclair High School varsity basketball team, and head coach of the Montclair junior varsity basketball team for many years. He also worked as a security guard in the district, and ran a summer basketball camp. Continue Reading

Montclair Fire Chief Kevin Allen is retiring on March 1st after serving the township for nearly four decades.

Montclair township Manager Marc Dashield says the town will begin looking for a replacement in February, according to north jersey.com.

The cops don't need to be everywhere at once, the penalties need to be harsh. It is not hyperbole JC. No one is slowing down for a few hundred bucks. 5k or 10k and you can be sure that "speed won't be creeping up" on folks.
