The Fourth of July, aka Independence Day, is just one week away! There are many ways to celebrate. Parades, parties, fireworks… The choices of patriotic fun are endless.

Here’s where to celebrate the Fourth of July:

Montclair’s 64th Annual 4th of July Parade, Picnic and Fireworks

Who: All ages.
What: Montclair’s 64th annual town parade and picnic to celebrate Independence Day. Enjoy food from local vendors, Jungle Gym Band will perform for the young and young at heart, face painting, bouncy house, train rides and more! That night, take the family to see the fireworks!
Where: The parade begins at 11 am along a 1.6 mile route traveling west on Bloomfield Avenue to Midland Avenue, continuing to Watchung Avenue, west to Valley Road and ending at Edgemont Park, where the July 4th Family Picnic will be held. The Montclair July 4th Fireworks display will take place at Yogi Berra Stadium on Montclair State University campus. Gates open at 7 pm.
When: Friday, July 4. Parade begins at 11 am (rain or shine) The picnic starts immediately after the parade. (no rain date) Fireworks at 9:15 pm.
Cost: Parade and Picnic are free. The fireworks stadium admission fee is $3 per person or $10 for a family, free for kids ages 5 and under.

Due to forecast, Essex County Fireworks & Concert scheduled for July 2, in Brookdale Park has been cancelled. Rain date 7/3.
Essex County’s Free Music Series and Fireworks Spectacular

Who: All ages.
What:   Concert by The Infernos with Joe Piscopo and Fireworks Spectacular!
Where: Brookdale Park, Bloomfield/Montclair, NJ

When:  Wednesday, July 2 Thursday, July 3 at 7:30 pm.
Cost: Free

Fourth of July

POSTPONED: Bloomfield Fireworks Spectacular
All ages.
Celebrating the 4th with fun and fireworks! There will be free blow up rides, amusements, stilt walkers, balloon animals, face painting and a wide variety of food vendors making all of the traditional carnival fare (for purchase).    Opening ceremonies kick off at 7:30 pmwith the presentation of Service Awards and Citizen of the Year Award to three very deserving recipients.   Immediately following the ceremonies, live music will be performed by the Wayne Brown Band.   They will be playing a wide variety of music including Bruce Springsteen, Jackson Brown, CSN&Y and music from the “British Invasion.”

Friday, July 4. Saturday, July 5. Gates open at 5:30 pm. Opening ceremonies kick off at 7:30 pm. Fireworks begin at approximately 9:20 pm.
Admission for kids under 5 and Senior Citizens is free. Kids from 6 to 18 are $1 and adults are $2.

Fourth of July

Maplewood’s 112th 4th of July Celebration
 All ages.

What: The annual July 4th will be the 112th organized by the July 4th Committee of the Maplewood Civic Association. It is a full day of family fun, a hometown community experience, including circus & fireworks.

Cost:  $10 Tag required for Admission to Fireworks Prime Viewing Area includes the Full Day’s Activities  and Circus.

Fourth of July Fireworks at Caldwell High
Who: All ages
What: The annual fireworks celebration, sponsored by the communities of Caldwell, Essex Fells, North Caldwell, Roseland and West Caldwell. DJ Dan Duca will provide entertainment for the event.
Where: James Caldwell High School Bonnel Field, 265 Westville Ave, West Caldwell, NJ
When: Friday, July 4. Gates will open at 7 pm and fireworks begin at dusk.
Cost: Adults $3 / Kids 12 and under $1

State Fair Meadowlands: Independence Day Celebration
 All ages.

What: Go out early and celebrate our nation’s birthday at the fair.  Enjoy all the rides & attractions along with great FREE entertainment, including the fair’s spectacular evening fireworks.
Where: Meadowlands, 50 Route 120, East Rutherford, NJ.

West Orange Independence Day Celebration
 All ages.

What:  The “Lefty” Boland Fun Meet kicks it off at 6:30 pm. Following the meet is a live music concert and a second-to-none traditional fireworks display. Pony rides, snack bar, novelties, kiddie attractions and much more…

Where:  West Orange High School Athletic Complex, 51 Conforti Avenue, West Orange, NJ.
When: Friday, July 4 at 6 pm. Fireworks start at 7 pm.
Cost: Free


Fourth of July BBQ at Grounds For Sculpture
 All ages

What: Celebrate your Independence Day at the Peacock Café with a BBQ featuring made-to-order cheeseburgers, hot dogs and veggie burgers. Then finish the day by stopping at the Gazebo for an ice cold slushie.
Where: Grounds for Sculpture, 18 Fairgrounds Road, Hamilton, NJ
When: Friday, July 4 from 11 am – 3 pm
Cost: Free with park admission. Café fees apply.

Fourth of July Fireworks at Sesame Place
 Ages 0 – 14

What: Don’t miss this fireworks show, set to Sesame Street music! Rock out with Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Cookie Monster and Count von Count, as their music fills the air and the sky is covered with colorful bursts of brilliance. Watch from inside the park as the sky is painted red (and green and blue)! The impressive display will certainly give you something to celebrate!

When: Friday, July 4 from 9:15 – 9:30 pm
