Name: Emily Wittmann

Where do you live? Montclair NJ

When did you move there? Left Manhattan for Montclair in fall of 2003

Where did you grow up? North Ward of Newark, NJ. My dad owned Melody Records in Newark and later throughout NJ

How do you make a living? Entertainment, I’m currently the CEO of three entertainment news websites.  Musictimes.com, MStarsnews.com and Classicalite.com

Coffee, tea or … ? A great French dry rose!

What’s your idea of a perfect Saturday? Mani/pedi then hanging with family and friends.

What’s your favorite local restaurant? Fascino

What’s on your nightstand? Bottle of water, all the time and my phone.

Your iPod? Everything, having grown in music/entertainment, I have everything from Marvin Gaye to the Replacements. Love Tom Tom Club, Psychedelic Furs, Dean Martin, Tom Jones, Cure, Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes, Smokey Robinson,Bruce, Elton, Bon Jovi,  Depeche Mode, Decemberist, Florence and the Machine, Lorde, Goyte… too many to list. My core music is the 80’s/90’s. Great dance music.

What are your current addictions? Cooking. I love to cook. Love cooking for large groups of friends and family. Never want to leave anyone going home hungry.

Talent you would most like to have. Wish I could play guitar and piano.

What’s the worst-kept secret about Montclair? It’s a great place to live and bring up a family

What do you hope they say about you at your funeral? That I had a love for life, loved to dance and was always brought people together.

    I recall Melody Records on Bloomfield Ave. in Newark. Didn’t the store have footprints painted on the sidewalk so as to lead the passers-by through the front door?

"Whether that whole municipal move thing really pans out money wise still remains to be seen." Uh, the Police Department move is going to happen. There is no Plan B. The only thing still open is the negotiation.
