The week in Montclair Crime from Lt. David O’Dowd, Montclair Police Department:
05-17-2015 (Grandview Place) Three juvenile males were arrested for breaking into vehicles. They were found in possession of proceeds from numerous thefts in the area.
05-12-2015 (CVS Pharmacy, Claremont Avenue) Mr. Bobby Williams, 41yoa from Irvington, was arrested for shoplifting numerous pieces of electronics.
05-14-2015 (Maple Avenue) Mr. Alquon Mosely, 44yoa from Newark, was arrested for a no bail warrant out of the Essex County Sheriff’s Office and a $789 warrant out of Newark
05-15-2015 (Sutherland Road) Burglary to a garage. Two bicycles were stolen. They are described as a Men’s Specialized Mountain Bike and a Men’s Trek Mountain Bike.
05-16-2015 (Hartley Street) Burglary to a church under renovation. Power tools were taken.
05-17-2015 (25 Depot Square) Burglary to Erie Saloon. Entrance was gained by breaking a window. A computer tablet was taken.
05-18-2015 (Franklin Place) Burglary to a garage. A black VilanoTuono 21 speed bicycle was stolen. No damage to the garage was reported.
05-17-2015 (Dryden Road) Theft from a motor vehicle. The vehicle, a Subaru, had been left unlocked overnight. Taken were various credit cards and $30 cash.
05-18-2015 (Grove Street) A victim in a wheelchair was approached by a group of juvenile males. One of these males snatched a bag of prescription medications from the victim’s hand, which had just been picked up from the pharmacy.
05-18-2015 (a retail store on Church Street) Shoplifting of two pocketbooks. An adult female entered the store with three juveniles. The adult female picked up a purse, and one of the juveniles picked up a pocketbook. The group then exited the store without paying for both items.
05-12-2015 (Howe Avenue) Residential fire to the roof of a multi family dwelling. Minor damage was reported. No injuries occurred in this incident. MFD is investigating.
05-18-2015 (Warren Place) Residential fire to the third floor of a residence. A third floor bathroom sustained fire and water damage. No injuries were reported. MFD is investigating the cause of this fire.
