Name: James Demaria
Where do you live? Montclair, NJ.
When did you move there? Nine Years ago.
Where did you grow up? Valley Stream, NY (Long Island)
How do you make a living? Photography and Documentary Films
Coffee, tea or … ? Lovely day for a Guinness
What’s your idea of a perfect Saturday? Hanging with my kids at Brookdale Park. Followed by a donut at Montclair Bread. Dinner at Raymond’s. Night cap with my wife at Tierney’s.
What’s your favorite local restaurant? Raymond’s or Tierney’s. Tough decision.
What’s on your nightstand? A novel by Charles Bukowski. Random toy left by my 5 year old. Empty coffee mug.
What are you listening to? Louis Armstrong, Dirty Dozen Brass Band and Kermit Ruffins.
What are your current addictions? New Orleans. Period.
Talent you would most like to have. I’d like to be able to drink (and survive) like Shane MacGowan.
What’s the worst-kept secret about Montclair? The Corner. (restaurant)
What do you hope they say about you at your funeral? I’m not a fan of funerals. “When I die you’d better Second Line.”

Montclair is relatively heterogenous and, it could fairly be said, takes pride in its diversity. Has Montclair named a street or school after Dr. King? Why is that?
