Storytime
Mother Goose is a great way to promote literacy among our preschool-aged patrons. Picture books, songs, art experiences, and puppets are used to build upon children’s natural enthusiasm for books and reading. Children of all abilities welcome.

Babies in the Library
Babies meet babies! Parents and caregivers sing nursery rhymes together with their little ones. Songs, language activities, and board books will be introduced during each session. Make baby’s first library experience a special one! Children of all abilities welcome.

3D Printing Demystified: An Introduction for Kids & Teens
Want to 3D print something that you can’t find on Thingiverse or MyMiniFactory? Have an idea in your head that you’d like to make into a 3D model? Come spend some time with Geoff Shorts as he volunteers his design and 3D printing skills at the Montclair Public Library. Geoff Shorts is a Mechanical Engineer who has worked in the manufacturing industry for the past 6 years prototyping products and designing automation equipment. As a serial problem-solver and big thinker, he recently left the corporate lifestyle behind in order to pursue his passion for inventing things. He’s interested in all things 3D printing – and you will be too!

Game On: Drop-In Wii & Board Games
Are ‘wii board’ yet? Come enjoy many games that are a lot of fun and offer a little bit of friendly competition. We will provide various Wii games (including but not limited to), Wii Sports Resort, Just Dance, and Super Smash Brothers Brawl. In addition, we will also offer various board games such as, Don’t Wake Daddy, Creationary, LIFE, Clue, Connect 4, Operation, Twister, Mancala, Chess and Backgammon to those who prefer to play traditional board games. Many Hands: Gift Blanket Volunteering
Many hands make light work! In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, Montclair Public Library invites you and your family to volunteer your time throughout the month of January. Join us as we make warm weather gear and no-sew blankets for those who don’t have them. We will have materials for those who know how to sew and knit, but feel free to bring your own. For those who don’t know how to sew, we will be making no-sew fleece blankets.
