YMCA of Montclair offers a full-day Staycation program for President’s Day, Monday February 21, for kids grades 1 to 6, with activities including gym time, games, swimming, crafts and more. Register by February 18.



President’s Day for Kids at Montclair History Center

Bring your kids to the Crane House and Historic YWCA and through hands-on activities and crafts, they’ll discover how our past presidents (and their wives and children) lived. Activities include an interactive timeline with artifacts, making a log cabin, hearth cooking, play-acting George Washington’s Rules of Civility by the hearth fire, making your own money, and a Symbols of Our Country scavenger hunt.

When: Monday, February 20, 10 am – Noon

Cost: $10/child

A STEMtastic Day at L3 Academy on President’s Day!

STEM Camp: The Physical World 9:00AM-3:00PM Grades K-4
A one-day camp will have campers rotating through different fun STEM activities include exploring magnets, food and the digestive system, building structures and programming it to move or react (more complex builds will be used for proficient builders), insects, and finding/understanding the world of physics. Campers with exhibit proficiency will be given the option of different challenges.

Minecraft: Quest for the Missing Professor 3:00PM-5:00PM Grades 1-8
In a race against time, Minecrafters are sent on an adventure to solve the mystery of “The Great Explorer.” All the adventurers work together in a single Minecraft world to find nine clues, while exploring strange places. Note: Players will re-generate if their life is lost.

Cora Hartshorn Arboretum Mini Camp for Winter Break
Who: Kids ages 3 1/2 – 5, Grades k – 3.
Turtle Tots: (3-5 years old) 9:00 am- 12:00 pm
$50/day or $225 for the week.
Explorers: (1st-3rd Grade) 9:00 am- 3:00 pm
$70/day or $325 for the week.

Patriotic Crafts at Morris Museum
Who: All ages.
