Montclair Township Animal Shelter (MTAS) will join with NBC 4 New York/WNBC and Telemundo 47/WNJU to host NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations’ Clear the Shelters third annual nationwide pet adoption drive on Saturday, August 19. On this day, MTAS will offer waived pet adoption fees as part of the nationwide Clear the Shelters initiative that seeks to help families find and adopt homeless pets. Fees for all animals over one year old will be paid by the Friends of the Montclair Township Animal Shelter (FOMTAS). Since 2015, Clear the Shelters has resulted in more than 70,000 pet adoptions nationwide.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for animals to find forever homes,” says acting Shelter Director Liz Morgan. “Summer is a difficult time of year because so many animals are abandoned when owners go on vacation, and we have fewer people coming in to adopt also because of summer vacations. We have so many wonderful animals at MTAS that are looking for their forever homes, with the support of FOMTAS and Clear the Shelters, we really do hope to clear our shelter on August 19.”
WHAT: MTAS to participate as an official Clear the Shelters partner alongside NBC 4 New York/WNBC and Telemundo 47/WNJU. MTAS will offer waived pet adoption fees to help families find and adopt a new pet. Fees for animals over one year old will be paid by FOMTAS.
WHEN: Saturday, August 19 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
WHERE: MTAS: 77 North Willow Street, Montclair, NJ 07042
