Montclair Teen On Bike Struck By Car on Bellevue Ave. Tuesday, Police Investigating


A 14-year-old Montclair male was struck by a car while riding his bicycle on Bellevue Ave. just after 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The vehicle, operated by a 41-year-old Verona man, was traveling eastbound on Bellevue Avenue when it struck the teen, as he rode across Bellevue Avenue, near Northview Avenue. The teen sustained injury to both legs in the collision and was transported to St Joseph’s for treatment, reports David O’Dowd, Detective Lieutenant, Montclair Police. The incident remains under investigation.


  1. Its very sad – people drive to fast BUT also these kids just ride all over the middle of the streets – especially most of them with no helmets and also on their phones.
    It scares me half to death to drive next to them because if they swerve into me it will be my fault that I hit them. Not very fair to the drivers.
