Montclair Public Library Foundation launches its “Love Your Library” annual appeal campaign with a goal of $200,000. Letters with appeal information are on their way to all Montclair households.
The MPL Foundation fills the gap between what town funding provides and the resources patrons expect. “The library makes a difference every day in the life of the community,” states Peter Coyl, MPL Library Director. “The library receives public support, but private donations strengthens the library’s capacity to innovate and adapt to change.” Donor’s collective investments make free programs possible, fund new services to help everyone connect to information that will better their lives and enhance library collections.
Whether you’re a family looking for a story time program, an immigrant in need of language resources, an unemployed individual searching for job help, or a community member who needs to renew their passport, you can all go to one place: the library.
“The Library is a hub for Montclair to connect and interact across all demographic groups. It is also an important economic equalizer, providing equal access to technology and information to disadvantaged citizens. We hope the community will carefully consider this appeal and join us in supporting the Montclair Public Library,” said Jennifer Bonnell, MPL Foundation Board Chair.
Next year marks the 125th Birthday of Montclair Public Library. “We have a strong, proud history of offering innovative and cutting edge services and our library enriches, informs and strengthens every corner of our community.” said Wilfred Adkins, President of MPL’s Board of Trustees. In celebration of its upcoming birthday, the library will be tracking progress toward the $200,000 goal on “Cake-O-Meter” signs posted in front of both library locations.
Donations to the library may be made by check to the Montclair Public Library Foundation, 50 South Fullerton Avenue, Montclair, or online at www.montclairlibrary.org.
