Montclair Fund for Educational Excellence (MFEE) launched its “Make a Magic Moment” Annual Appeal campaign on #GivingTuesday with a goal of $100,000 by January 31, 2018.

Donations to MFEE help make Montclair Public Schools extraordinary by providing the boost they need to make learning come alive for students. Donations do not supplant district funding; they make it go further by leveraging district investments.

The Montclair Public School experience is magical because generous donors have helped provide the critical ingredients.

Donations to MFEE provide $75,000 in teacher grants to fund innovative programs like: Beebots and Finches (tech gizmos) to teach coding to our kids, alternative seating like standing desks and wobbly stools that research shows increases student focus, and school-wide poetry slam curricula and performances to help middle school students express themselves while increasing literacy.

Donations also fund large grants to the district like a $10,000 grant to fund district-wide technology professional development so that our kids can use tools like Google classroom; a $12,500 grant to support Undoing Racism workshops for all staff to create culturally responsive classrooms; and most recently, a $30,000 grant to purchase state-of-the-art computers and software for the MHS Computer Science department.

MFEE also supports educating the whole child and provides $15,000 a year to support social and emotional learning, helping our kids increase their empathy and learn mindfulness to manage emotions in the classroom. MFEE also provides summer enrichment opportunities to students with limited economic means and critical funding for out-of-the-box professional development experiences for teachers.

MFEE funding provides that magical boost to make our schools truly special! Help “Make a Magic Moment” in Montclair Public Schools by making a tax-deductable donation today at MFEE.org.
