We saw this a few days ago on Ridgewood Avenue in Glen Ridge. Damn quaint, don’t you think? All you’d have to do is get rid of the 973 on the side of the truck and torch the Toyota in the foreground, and you could imagine Jimmy Stewart walking by whistling.
It reminded us of the blind piano tuner who used to come through our neighborhood with a guy who sharpened knives. The knife sharpener drove the piano tuner from job to job and then walked up and down the street clanging knives, looking for business. Heard he died. Don’t know how he’d have done in a post-9/11 world, anyway.
