Giotto_1 There√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s a certain amount of inconvenience that comes from being a celebrity couple; just ask Brad and Jen, or locally, Moose and Elaine. Anne-Marie Nolin, accompanied by hubby Bob Adler, discovered what it√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s like to be stalked by paparazzi outside of restaurants, when she accepted her prize (and our Big Fake Check) as the winner of Barista√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s first-ever scavenger hunt. Nolin and Alder were gracious but guarded as they posed for this shot (we held the $50 hostage until they complied). Then we let them enjoy their 15 minutes of fame (o.k., 15 seconds) as they dined at their restaurant of choice, Giotto on Midland Ave., all to benefit Project Graduation. Nolin and Adler weren√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t the only bold-faced names out last night…

Swappers Moose and Elaine Bramhall were sighted, too. Seems those two crazy kids dined out downtown, then walked hand in hand to their car on South Fullerton.

UpchurchRestaurants who participated last night did a brisk business; Church Street Café opened its upstairs room to accommodate a swell of extra diners (see anyone you know?) and Il Forno had tables spilling out into the glass atrium of the Crescent. Me, I ordered food at Nauna’s Bella Casa and downed a beer at Tierney’s. Let us know where you went, what you had, etc…

  1. Best-selling author Dorothea Benton Frank, husband Peter, and son William also dined at Giotto last night.
