Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye

We don’t need an image consultant to come up with a slogan for Montclair that will attract visitors from all over. The folks at PSE & G have taken care of it for us — Montclair: Come See Our Live Wires.

After two electrical fires in one day that concluded with a frightening fireworks display at the corner of Gordonhurst and Grove last night, Montclair parents may have to amend traditional instructions to children (don’t talk to strangers, look both ways before crossing the street) to include "keep your eyes out for any live wires." The scene at Gordonhurst last night looked like something out of the Twilight Zone with one side of the street bathed in the soft glow of holiday decorations and the other, completely dark. Mayor Ed Remsen offered details of the fire to Cooleristas this morning, where confidence in PSE & G eroded quickly with a post of other horror stories. We’ve contacted PSE & G and are awaiting a response. Meanwhile, make like Chicken Little and watch your step.

Don’t hold your collective breath. It amazes me that in 2005, we are dealing with such an archaic electrical system.

Instapundit links to Jeff Jarvis who has a link to you on the same page. Kind of a skewed Instalanch, but I’m curious what kind of bulge in traffic resulted.

And we can get this project completed in time for Montclair's sesquicentennial when we can stick a fork into historic preservation as a public policy.
