FREE! Catch the fireworks show tonight, 7:30 pm at Brookdale Park. You”ll want to bring a blanket to sit on, but it looks like you can leave the umbrella at home. (weather.com says there may be some clouds, but no rain.)

  1. Definitely food, drink, wine and cheese!
Just one thing…the fireworks are AFTER the NJ Symphony plays (that’s what is at 7:30).

Bring some mosquito repellant as well- and some extra wine and cheese if you want to make some friends!

  6. The fireworks were awful tonite. All that trouble to park for a brutal 20 minute show. Joe D. must be hitting it rough to have poor quality entertainment. It was much better last year. wonder if it was the same pyrotechs.

  10. Funny, we thought the fireworks themselves were good–except for the ‘fallout/schrapnel’ problem! We were all the way up close to the track, and in addition to having stuff all over us, a few people got flakes of the stuff in their eyes–including one child. In all my years of seeing fireworks, I’ve never had that happen.

  11. We thought the fireworks were fabulous. Never saw those ones that sprayed up from the ground before. And it was a lon-n-n-g show. Best part, though, was the 10 month old who was with us not crying at all, and then falling asleep in the middle of it.
Park on a side street and avoid the traffic jams!

  12. My group thought it was a great show too. Good music, and the fireworks were the best we’ve seen so far. As for parking, yes, definitely on a side street. You may have to walk a bit, but it was a beautiful night for that.
The only downside to the evening is that we spilled the wine. Bummer.

  13. I thought they were great. We sat up in “the meadow” away from the huddled masses as none of us likes crowds and it was fine. But then again, I pretty much like anything that is free – LOL!
It was a beautiful night weather wise and the full moon helped make the walk back with its illumination.

  14. firworks weren’t good. Better at JAckals anytime. Better get out more those of you who thought these were good.

  15. Geez, what a snarky bunch on this site! Sorry my good time offended you Ange.
As for getting out more, if it means running into the likes of you, I’ll just stay in.
