What’s On Tap

This weekend is relatively quiet, event-wise, on the Baristanet calendar (A mid-winter lull? Post-holiday exhaustion? Or are you all busy planning killer events for next month?). But here are a few events you might want to know about:
Steve Mohn Furniture and Design kicks off their grand opening weekend with a Friday night party, the musical Forever Plaid opens a four-week run at Highlands Regional Playhouse in Allendale and the NJ Symphony Orchestra‘s Winter Festival has begun (it runs through the 27th).
Next week brings…

a concert by pianist Grace Gimbel at the Women’s Club of Glen Ridge on Tuesday and a screening of the documentary “Invisible Children” at the Montclair Public Library on Thursday.
So tell us — what else is on your social calendar?

  1. I really hate the expression “on tap” when referring to an upcoming event.
Beer is “on tap” (actually, better “on draft”, or, “on draught” for those of you from across the pond).
It just sounds so silly (and has become so cliche).

  2. Hey P R …It was a good year for Beaujoulais Nouveau…I finished one over the Holidays.
    Good pick

  3. Yes, it is a good year for the BN. It took forever to arrive, though; Bottle King didn’t have any until just before Thanksgiving. Yet it was worth the wait. And I still have another unopened bottle in my wine cellar (ok, in the wine rack I keep under my basement stairs!).
Anybody want to help me finish it?

  4. If you get a chance to stop in at Steven Mohn Furniture & Design I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Lovely offerings, FAB prices – I’d definitely go back for rennovations/purchases. A nice asset to Bloomfield and the surrounding area.

  5. Hey football fans–hoping you can help–a single F friend of ours is looking for a local place where she can watch football but might also meet some nice guys. She likes football but isn’t a huge fan, so the games aren’t too important. Does such a place exist?

  6. Piano’s Bar and Grill
I had never been to Hathaway’s, but it seems Piano’s will add to the “Re-development” of downtown Bloomfield.
The entertainment was very good (especially the powerful voice of Leanne Weiss), and there is a large selection to choose from on their menu.
I was there this past Friday and I highly recommend checking it out!
Every Friday Night at Pianos Bar & Grill, professional singers perform cabaret songs throughout the evening starting at 8:30 PM.
