Good Beer, Good Music, Good Causes

The deadline is Wednesday for grabbing tickets for the Glen Ridge Congregational Church’s Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 18, which is open to the entire Baristaville community. The party features music by Clancy’s Ghost, a bountiful spread by renowned Cordon Bleu chef Jay Macaluso and a silent auction that includes beach vacations, sports tickets and ballroom dancing lessons.
Proceeds will benefit Heifer International (which combats hunger and poverty around the globe), the GRCC’s college scholarship fund and Integrity House in Newark. Integrity House is a residence where recovering addicts and pre-release inmates learn self-reliance in an atmosphere of family ideals, house rules, and strong work ethics. We’re told 90% of members who reach Integrity House’s second stage of recovery remain drug-free, crime-free, and working for one year or more.
Seats are going quickly (though we’re told they might be flexible on that Oct. 1 deadline if there are any seats remaining come Thursday morning), so for tickets (which start at $75 per person/$125 per couple) call Caroline Bartlett: 973-743-6469.
