  1. My vote is hereby available for sale or barter. Will vote for food – or a coupon to Falafel Hut, Applegate Farms, etc.

  2. “strange” would indeed be evidence of an improved standing for walleroo.
He’s been firmly pegged at “harmless” for most of the “campaign”.

  3. To the two people who clicked “strange write-in candidate”: do you mean ME????
    ——————
President Walleroo has a nice ring to it.

  5. “community organizers” with “authority”.
I’m just guessing here. But it sounds troubling to me.

  6. 17 reasons why hussein obama suck…(probably this will be pulled because of using the crusaders Muslem middle name.

  7. Funny. The same people who want gubmint off their backs also don’t want to see citizens having some responsibility for the condition of their own communities. I’d much rather see community groups than paid mercenaries from Blackwater showing up when there’s a disaster. (Note: for those of you who don’t know the gubmint paid them about 8 million for “security” in the days following Katrina).

  8. yes. for a town that thinks their taxes shouldnt go to dog parks, skate parks, and new trees also hates community organizers, and thinks socialist thinking leads to communism.

  9. Judging from his comments, I believe he is talking about a *funded* civilian security force. Listen to the tape. That doesn’t sound like voluntarism to me.

  10. “The same people who want gubmint off their backs also don’t want to see citizens having some responsibility for the condition of their own communities”
Call me biased or paranoid, but I hear little tiny Maoist shades here.

  11. wow…lets stop spending money on the war and increase our taxes and spend more money on the care and feeding of illegal immigrant.
no pun intended…but if b.husssein obama wins it will be a darkest day in the history of america.

  12. Ice, even I think that’s more than a little bit of hyperbole. Darker than 12/7/41? 9/11/01? The battle of Gettysburg? The battle of New York in the revolution?
    The darkest day. No.
Probably only as dark as Jimmy Carter’s election.

  13. Sorry, Ice/MM/ROC. You’ve had your guy for 8 years; that game is over.
Time to try something different. It’ll be a landslide.
But hey: I predict that if you keep an open mind, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by how it works out with Obama in office. I mean, your expectations are so low that he really can’t help exceeding them.

  14. And y’know… I have to say that I find it so sick and ironic that with all of the “Country First” rhetoric of the GOP campaign this season, all their sick fear-mongering strategy has accomplished is to scare the shit out of their own followers so that they’ll be absolutely terrified when Obama takes office.
If that’s putting “Country First” at a time when people have so much else to worry about, then I’m a fucking lion on the Serengeti.

  15. “strange” would indeed be evidence of an improved standing for walleroo.
Alas, it is not to be. I’ve lost my one write-in vote (cathar) to jerseygurl, who downgraded me to “adorable” on another thread. How humiliating. Politics isn’t my thing, I guess.

  16. Gee Ice. Still clinging to the B Hussein thing. Those sort of thing put you squarely in the realm of the dinosaurs. The torch is being passed. Hope you can put aside that bullshit and figure out a way to come along.

  17. Mrs, it turns out my post omitted a zero. Your gubmint paid 80 million dolllars to mercenaries because the National Guard, which should have been there, was deployed in Iraq.

  18. Just voted at Berkeley school, 12th Bloomfield district at 7:00am. There were no lines outside the building but there where lines inside to sign in. There was a short line for the 2 voting machines there. I didn’t have any problems with the voting machine. It took me 10 mins to vote because sign in line was short. I estimate that it will take 30 mins on average to vote.

  19. Well, hasn’t this little poll taken an interesting turn overnight?
Now, let’s hope it is a sign of things to come.

  20. I get to work this morning and there are 4 messages on my machine. Two are work-related and the other two are from the Obama camp. How the hell did they get my work #? Grrrrrr!

  21. Laserturnip, really, what else would you have to do other than washing out your socks if the Baristas were not having a party (of sorts) tonight? Presidential election season has widened your social calendar. Too bad it doesn’t come round again for four years, eh?
(That even you didn’t have problems with the voting machine isn’t as reassuring about the future path of this nation as you might think, however, mikeypal.)
Katebirdrex, you’re of course welcome to imagine yourself any animal you wish and to bound in your mind across the veldt. But the class way to do so is sans profanity. Lest it lead to speculation about the true ignobility of your origins, since the only place lionesses probably learn such vulgarisms is at the zoo.

  22. Cathar, my language is sprinkled liberally with salt on- and off-line. It’s part of my charm. 🙂
And having spent some time watching lions on the veldt, I would submit to you that they are distinctly unprudish.Rawr.

  23. Gee, if I can glean anything from reading these posts it’s that I’m thankful that those people who voice their support for the “Republican” cause (what ever that is??) are, well, republican.
Keep talking folks…nothing can paint this country more blue than you can!
