Some Colbert With Your Morning Coffee?

Jumpin’ jehosephat! Baristaville’s own Steve Colbert pounces, slithers, and does handstands over CBS’ low-tech blue & red election map – but the only thing turning red is Colbert’s face. The late-night host makes a rare morning appearance, Tuesday on the CBS Early Show.

  1. Poor Colbert and Stewart… I’m sure they both thought THEY’D be the big story this election…..
But then Palin….. And Tina Fey…. And SNL…
Now poor Colbert is reduced to dry humpin’ an election map 2 weeks after the election.
Is he aware that Obama won?
I hope his Mr. Goodwrench vest still fits….

  2. Perhaps, Professor, but then again, I think Sean Hannity “I drive an Escalade Hybrid” would need some assistance getting up off anything lower than a club chair.

  3. Prof, your post seemed to pertain to either:
    (a) an assortment of TV pundits
    or
    (b)haberdashery.
I took a wild stab at the former, rather than the latter –
would you rather talk about ties and socks?

  4. Just goes to show you how competitive network news is these days … from CBS’ simple board map to CNN’s “holographic” interviews … seems like they’re all throwing everything they can think of on the wall and hoping something sticks.

  5. Perlstein,
I working WAY to hard to understand you this morning.
And perhaps your coffee hasn’t taken hold– I spoke of Colbert and Stewart. Both (unfunny without their writers) comedians, doing the news compared to SNL.
    You read that as “pundits”?
Which allowed you to offer a lame Hannity dig?
And still, both Stewart and Colbert would kill for Hannity’s audience numbers.
But who cares about any of them?
    That’s my point.

  6. “I working WAY to hard to understand you this morning.”
    Not hard enough apparently.
BTW-Colbert and Stewart are BOTH writers as well.

  7. Don’t work to hard, Prof, you’ll spurt.
    I select definition #2
    best regards, my man.
