Sweet Valentine’s Day Idea: Make a Placemat for Senior Center

250px-Child_scribble_age_1y10m.jpgKeep your kids busy and do something sweet at the same time. Senior Care & Activities Center on Walnut and Greenwood streets requested kid-made placemats for their Valentine’s Day party this Thursday.

The seniors love getting homemade gifts from children. Really. This means someone else will ooh and ahh over your kid’s scribbles, too.

If you’re interested, here’s what to do:

  • Decorate a piece of standard construction paper with Valentine’s drawings, stickers, ribbons and/or words.
  • To make it more sturdy, go to the hardware store in Watchung Plaza for single sheets of laminating paper. If you can’t do this don’t worry.
  • Drop it off to Abby Colen from Montclair Kids in Action by Wednesday February 12, 2009. She has a crate on her front porch. Email her directly for her address. She’ll delivery the goodies on Thursday.
