mthebronmusicians.JPGMontclair’s Mt. Hebron School’s Chorus participated in The High Note Music Festival last Friday, May 21 held in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Mt. Hebron was one of 14 schools from NJ and PA who participated.
Schools who perform are scored. Groups receive points for tone, intonation, diction, technique, interpretation, balance and musical repertoire. The chorus performed three selections, “Sing With Jubilation”, “This is Why We Sing” and “Let My People Go”. Marrisa Hickman accompanied the chorus on piano and Austin Eaton accompanied on drums.
Mt. Hebron’s Chorus and Band both received superior ratings on Friday for their performances. The chorus earned a score of 98 points from one judge and 97 points from the other (out of 100). The organizers of the festival told Mt Hebron’s Fine Art’s Subject leader and choir director, Mary Ann Cool that The Mt. Hebron Chorus was by far the most professional group out of all of their sites. These were the highest scores the chorus has ever received. See some of the chorus members and Mrs. Cool celebrating in the photo above.

I'm struck by how much attention is being paid to the details of a parking lot, as opposed to the attention paid to the future impact of the monstrous projects being planned.
