Plane_crash_into_Hudson_River_(crop).jpgCongratulations to Mista Barista, AKA the Associated Press’s Warren Levinson, who is receiving his second Edward R. Murrow award, this time for coverage of US Airways Flight 1549, which landed in the Hudson River — without any loss of life — in January 2009.
Leading the reporting from rooftops and ground, Levinson received special mention for the “Miracle on the Hudson” story in the Audio Breaking News Coverage category. Listen to the winning entry here.

From the AP’s news release:

“We’re proud to have swept the awards for online news organizations with a rich variety of enterprise, news and features and to claim a breaking news award for radio,” said AP Executive Editor Kathleen Carroll.”

  1. Congratulations, Warren! It is nice to see something good happen by reporting on something good that happened: two happy endings.

  2. Congrats, Mistah. It’s good to hear that experienced reporter being recognized for reporting. There’s too little of it these days.
