4th Of July Weekend, We’re All Over It!

new buttons.jpgHappy 4th of July weekend to all! We’ll be partying with you all over Baristaville! This year’s theme tchotchke is the Baristanet Button. Be sure and get yours at these locations:

Sunday, July 4:

Jolie Solomon will be at Maplewood’s festivities handing out our highly collectible buttons. We’ll be at the Bloomfield fireworks on Sunday night with more buttons! Did you know? Baristanet is an official sponsor of Bloomfield’s “Summer of Fun.”

Monday, July 5:
We’ll be in Montclair’s morning parade – give us the royal wave and cheer as we “float” by. Three great local businesses contributed to this year’s Baristanet float. Gaia Gardens is bringing the truck. Competitive Signs made the banners. Rock, Paper, Scissors is adding all the other creative flourishes. Huge thanks to them for their support.
Come find our table at the post-parade afternoon picnic at Edgemont Park. Barista Kids will have free face painting at their table (all ages, by the way!), and we’ll have…more buttons.
But what’s summer without a splash and some sunscreen? Old faithful parade viewers know they can count on some water gun action from the Commonwealth Club “floaters-by”, and our friends at The Ray Festa Melanoma Foundation will have a float again in the parade. They’lll be handing out samples of sunscreen and carrying signs reminding everyone to be Play Sun Smart.
The Boy Scouts of America, celebrating their 100th Anniversary, are officially The Grand Marshalls of the parade.

  1. A very happy & safe 4th of July to all of you.
Stay safe, be careful and have fun!
Since I grew up in Maplewood and still know hoardes of people there, I will be going there for the fireworks, as it’s a tradition!
I will be taking the New York Thruway to Pleasanat Valley Way to the Paper Mill Playhouse onto Main Street in Millburn to Morris Ave in Union and jumping on the GSP North and exiting at the Maplewood Exit. I’ll probably be early, so me & the wife will chow down on a couple Kosher Barkers and an A&W Root Beer float.

  2. Gave out Baristanet buttons to lots of friends — new and old — at Brookdale Park tonight, while the Infernos rocked the crowd. Great evening.

  3. Don’t forget to thank Kings for raising money when it seemed our traditional family parade was going to be canceled due to budget constraints! They asked shoppers at the register to contribute $4 toward “save the parade” fund. We love local efforts!…and we love the Baristaballoons “got local?”!

  4. It is going to be too hot to stand in the sun tomorrow. I am Americana-ed out already and it is only Sunday morning. Searching for my old Phil Ochs music and not feeling the patriotism when people are hungry, not able to afford basic needs, unemployed and disengaged from the political process. For those who wish, party on!
