GHS Football Players Walk With Their Friend and For a Cure

For the past eight years, Michael Rollo has taken part in a diabetes walk and he brings his teamates and friends with him.

Michael has type 1 diabetes and is committed to raising money to the research and cure of the disease. Since he started walking, Michael’s teammates on his Red Dogs football team came to the walk dressed in their football shirts. Now a senior at Glen Ridge High School, all of his friends and teammates have continued to turn up and support him helping  Michael turn up with largest team– Team Michael Rollo. They walked together on Sunday, September 26.

Michael’s father John shares, “By 8.30 am on September 26, our living room and dining room were full of football players who had turned up to participate in a Diabetes walk on the grounds of BD in Franklin lakes. Everyone was in a great mood and the weather was sunny and warm. Extra friends and parents drove everyone. It has really meant a lot to Michael to have such support from his friends and support the continued research to find a cure for Diabetes type 1.”
