Register, Run In First Annual Llewellyn Park 5K

Take a run through Llewellyn Park (who knows – you might even see resident Whoopi Goldberg!). The First Annual Llewellyn Park 5K is this Sunday, (10/24, 9 a.m). Online registration ends at 11 p.m. today (10/21), but you can also register that morning at 8 a.m. ($25 for adults/$10 for kids 10 and under).

Glenmont, the estate of Thomas Edison and a national museum, is steps away from the start/finish are and will be open to participants of the event for a private viewing from 10 a.m. to noon. Your race bib allows you and your family (or guest) complimentary admittance to tour the house at your leisure.

There is no parking inside Llewellyn Park. Guests are asked to park next door at 80 Main Street (corner of Mt. Pleasant Avenue) and to enter the Park by foot. Exit the parking lot at Main Street and turn left. The entrance to LP will be on your left at the corner of Park Avenue.

Kids’ races will take place immediately following the 5K on the front lawn of Glenmont. A cross country fitness coach will lead the children in warm-ups and fitness exercises before the children take part in races. The race has been certified by the USA Track and Field Association (which means that our course has been measured and approved by a USATF official).

  1. Aw geee, wish I had know about this before I registered for the Swamp Devil 15K in Stirling on the same day. Sounds like fun. Maybe Whoopi would’ve invited me in for tea and I could have gotten up off her couch and walked out.
