Food and Wine, for Clara Maass Benefit

Hot on the heels of a successful Oktoberfest fundraiser, Baristaville food and wine vendors, more than 40 of them, are offering their wares again, for nothing but a good cause – to raise money for the Clara Maass Medical Center Foundation.

“Everything – food, wine, servers, gift bags – is donated for this event,” dubbed A Tasteful Experience, said Jacqueline Kelly, special events coordinator at the foundation, adding that programs and services at the medical center will be the key beneficiaries.

“We appreciate every person who is involved in making this evening possible.”

“We are delighted to have so many outstanding participants at this year’s event,” Jane Newman Kessler, the foundation’s vice president, said.

New restaurants participating this year, the foundation’s sixth annual benefit, include Bar Cara of Bloomfield, Costanera of Montclair, Orange Squirrel of Bloomfield, Stamna of Bloomfield, Gelato Giuliana of Montclair, Positano of Wayne, Salute a brick oven bistro of Montclair, The Southern Belle of Montclair, and Confectionary Designs of Bogota.

Among the regular crowd pullers are CulinAriane, Fascino, Restaurant Passione, Stuffed Cupcakes and Amanti Vino, which gave its $10,000 profits from its recent Oktoberfest benefit to Intensive Therapeutics, a charity which provides physical therapy services for children.

A Tasteful Experience, which will be held on Monday, Nov. 8 at Pleasantdale Chateau in West Orange, will give guests a sampling of the flavors of Japan, Latin America, Ethiopia, Ireland and Mexico.
