Who isn’t trying to balance motherhood with relationships, work and everything else? If that sounds familiar, check out a movie screening this Thursday at Montclair International Film Festival Headquarters.

The award-winning documentary is called Who Does She Think She Is? It was produced by Pamela Tanner Boll who also did Born Into Brothels.

Local mom and life coach Suzanne Aptman will host an optional discussion following the movie.

  1. Personally, I find all this focus on the “difficulty” of modern parenting (for both mothers and fathers) narcissistic. We all have it much, much better than parents of previous generations. Our culture seems to find a million ways a day to pat ourselves on the back while simultaneously gazing at our own navels.

The notion that modern women who have to “balance” being artists with being mothers is some kind of cross to bear is absurd. How many women or men a generation ago had the financial security to even contemplate such an “issue”? Frankly, it’s like a multi-millionaire complaining about the “burden” of his property tax.
