Things to Do The Day After Thanksgiving

Many people love to brave the crowds and shop on the day after Thanksgiving. Not me. I like to shop locally and spend the rest of the day doing something fun with my family.

There are a few things going on in Baristaville for doing just that:

Fall Harvest Campfire
All ages.
What: Roast marshmallows and enjoy freshly popped popcorn and cider around a campfire to celebrate the fall harvest.
Where: Essex County Environmental Center, 621-B Eagle Rock Avenue, Roseland, NJ.
When: Thursday, November 26 from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm.

Thanksgiving Family Festival: Design It!
All ages.
What: Through hands-on activities learn about the furniture, architecture, industrial, and graphic design to discover how things are made and to invent something yourself! Family Fun Tours at the museum will also be held. Get the chance to design a gallery exhibition with Gustav Stickley’s “Gallery Game: Exhibition Design.”
Where: Newark Museum, 49 Washington Street, Newark, NJ.
When: Friday, November 26 from 12:30 pm – 4:30 pm.

Les Misérables
Adults and older children.
What: In celebration of its 25th anniversary, the musical Les Misérables will be showing at the Paper Mill Playhouse from November 19 – December 30. Les Misérables is the legendary story of Jean Valjean as he tries to escape his past as Prisoner 24601 set during the Paris Rebellion of 1832.
Where: Paper Mill Playhouse, 22 Brookside Drive, Millburn, NJ.
When: Friday, November 26 at 1:30 pm.

Breakfast With Santa
Little kids.
What: Have breakfast with Santa Claus, receive a special gift and take a photo with the jolly old elf.
Where: Imagine That!, 4 Vreeland Road, Florham Park, NJ.
When: Friday, November 26 at 10 am.
Cost: Children $13.99 and Adults $10.99.
