Although normally closed on Mondays, Mesob Ethiopian Restaurant in Montclair will be open tonight (2/14) for a one-night only Valentine’s Day event, featuring traditional Ethiopian Eskesta dancers Frehiwot Bireka and Daniel Kebede. Having just returned from a 12-state tour, the colorfully-costumed pair from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia will move throughout the restaurant. Meaning “dancing shoulders,” Eskesta is practiced mainly in the Northern parts of Ethiopia, and is performed both by men and women with their head, neck, chest and shoulders shaking in specific movements.

There will be two seatings for this special dinner, 6:30pm and 8:30pm, by reservation only.
Mesob Ethiopian Restaurant is located at 515 Bloomfield Avenue, in Montclair. For reservations or more information, call 973-655-9000 or visit Mesob online.
