Attention young Mavericks! This Saturday, at the Aviation Hall of Fame & Museum of NJ, kids (and grown-ups) can enjoy Open Cockpit day, where they can sit in airliners and helicopters:

 

 

Open Cockpit Day
Who: Aviator fans of all ages.
What: The Aviation Hall of Fame offers kids a chance to check out a very rare Lockheed Bushmaster, a Coast Guard helicopter, a Walter Aircraft rescue and fire fighting truck, and a Cobra gunship helicopter. Additionally the world’s only surviving Martin 202 airliner is on display and open.
Where: Aviation Hall of Fame & Museum of NJ, 400 Fred Wehran Drive, Teterboro Airport, Teterboro, NJ.
When: Saturday, April 2 from 10 am – 4 pm.
Cost: Adults $7 / Children $5.

If you feel the need….the need for speed, on May 1, kids can actually take flight…

The Young Eagles Rally Spring Event is scheduled for Sunday, May 1. Kids ages 8 to 17 are invited out to Essex County Airport for a free flight:

Who: Kids ages 8 to 17
What: Kids, with parental permission, are invited to take to the skies and join over 1.5 million Young Eagles who have flown with more than 42,000 volunteer pilots since 1992.
Where: Essex County Airport, 35 Wright Way, Fairfield, NJ
When: Sunday, May 2 from 10 am to 4 pm.
Cost: Free.
