The Weekend: St. Patty Celebrations & Live Music

The 41st Glen Ridge annual pancake breakfast returns this Saturday, March 12, at the Glen Ridge Congregational Church. The event will take place from 8:30 to 11 a.m. and tickets will be sold at the door for $5. Breakfast includes: pancakes, sausages, juice, coffee and tea. Pancakes will be flipped and served by members of the Glen Ridge music students. Breakfast is sponsored by the Glen Ridge Music Parents Association to benefit the Glen Ridge High School music programs. The Glen Ridge Congregational Church is located at 195 Ridgewood Ave.

The Montclair Ambulance Unit will be hosting their first annual St. Patrick’s day benefit Saturday, March 12. The benefit will be held at the Common wealth Club, 26 Northview Ave., in Montclair. Tickets are now on sale and for uniformed personnel (EMS, police, fire, military) are $50 for a single ticket or $75 for a couple and for all others, $100 for a single and $150 for a couple. Tickets include horsd’oeuvrs, cocktails, bagpipe music, Irish Fold dancers and local country band, Northeast of Nashville. Proceeds will go to the Montclair Ambulance Unity and are tax deductible. The Montclair Ambulance Unit is a career Emergency Service agency licensed by the State of New Jersey and serving the township of Montclair and the surrounding area. MAU is a 501(c)3 charitable organization.

Tierney’s live music this weekend will be the Waking Lights Tour Kickoff show. Doors open at 9 p.m. and music is scheduled to start at 9:30 p.m. Deivito will open, followed by The Front Bottoms, Waking Lights and The Jounce. You must be at least 21 to enter and tickets are $8 at the door. Tierney’s is located at 136 Valley Road in Montclair.

This Friday, head over to Pianos Bar and Grill to see three tri-state Cabaret singers perform.  Top Tier Troupe members may drop in for surprise performances, along with Pianos’ performing waitstaff, when time permits.
