The Newark School of the Arts (NSA) has announced the availability of its Fall 2011 scholarships for musical performance students. NSA provides world class training in the classical arts to students from across northern and central New Jersey.
The talent-based scholarships are available for students of voice, string, woodwind, percussion, brass and piano. Applicants must successfully audition and have two years of previous music study to be eligible.
“I encourage students from a variety of backgrounds and locations to come out to audition for these scholarships,” said Dara Falco, the school’s Executive Director. “NSA has a long history of providing affordable and accessible training in the performing arts to students throughout our state. This year we have students enrolled from as far south as Freehold, west to Morristown and from the Bronx, N.Y.”
Auditions will be held at the Newark School of the Arts, 89 Lincoln Park in Newark on Saturday, May 14 from 10 am to 3 pm and Tuesday, May 17 and Wednesday, May 18 from 3:30 to 6 pm.
