A reader writes that her cousin’s car was stolen around noon on Monday, June 27, from the 7-Eleven parking lot on Passaic Avenue in Nutley, with a 10-year-old Maltese inside. The dog’s owner, who lives in Belleville, is pleading for help finding her pet.

The 2011 Hyundai Sonata’s motor was left running to keep the air conditioning on for the dog. The owner said she believes the thief turned onto Park Avenue and headed toward Route 21.

Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage and investigating the incident. The owner is heartbroken and said her dog takes medication. Valentino was wearing a black collar and black leash, and a tag with his name on it.

There is an award being offered for the pet’s return. Those with information can contact the Nutley Police Department at 973-284-4940.

  1. This is making me cry, The owner must be frantic. I will pray and send positive thoughts for Valentino’s safe return.

  2. Reviewing the polcie reports in Nutley it seems that there is a great deal of auto theft, most of it associated with the Dunkin Donuts on Washington Avenue, in which the motorist left the engine running.

Not only is this silly with regard to being surpriced when someone steals a car, but it is fairly dangerous. In the police reports of this past winter regarding Dunkin Donuts there was no mention of any summonses for the motorists who acted so carelessly. Perhaps this incident will change some of that, or, if not the failure of the police to do their job at least with the motorists.

  3. I am so upset to read this story. I really hope there is a happy end to this….. Let the owner know that I am sure many who read this like me are praying that they get the dog back…..the lowlifes who do this should really be put in jail

  4. That is just horrifying, I so hope she gets the dog back. But it’s a lesson to be learned – don’t leave your car running no matter what a short time it will be. The person would have been better off leaving the windows open slightly for the dog, and locking the car, if she was only going in for a very short time. The car couldn’t get that hot in say, 5 minutes. I know someone who left their car running in front of the Bloomfield Law Enforcement building, of all places, while mailing a letter, and it was stolen before she could even get back to it!!!

  5. You are right, Mauigirl, but what makes me feel bad is the driver was acting in the interest of the dog. I can’t imagine how she feels now. This will be on my mind until Valentino is found.

  6. I want to thank all of you for your concern. It was my cousin’s car that was stolen. Believe me, no one will be able to beat her up more then she is beating up herself. It was a very hard lesson to learn. She is totally heartbroken. There has been no word yet on the car or the dog, but we are keeping the faith! I am a true believer in the power of prayer, so thank you for all of yours. As soon as I hear something I will post it.

  7. Praying for the quick return of this little one and peace for his owner. What a nightmare! I’d have to be sedated.

  8. That really sucks, I’m sorry.
You’ve probably done this, but contact local shelters as well as those a few towns over (in the Oranges and Newark since that’s likely where the car ended up too).

  9. @John, you’d think that a dunkin donuts would be the last place a thief would want to steal a car. That’s like stealing from a police parking lot!

  10. Ohhh, sweet poochie!! Hope the scofflaws have a shred of mercy left in their evil hearts! Snoopy come home!

May I suggest a tote bag for Valentino, where next time he can ride in comfort on mama’s arm when she goes to get coffee. In these sorry times, it’s probably not a good idea to leave cars running or doors unlocked. He’s gotta be small enough to fit in a shoulder bag just for a few minutes.

Johnlee, there’s quite a collection of smokies at the DD on Main St. in Belleville too. Something about those Boston Creams and Iced Lattes, I guess. Kinda like slugs to a plate of beer! 😛

  11. The dog part aside, I hope he is returned in good health, but I wonder if the motorist will have their insurance claim for the stolen car reduced because she does have a great deal of responsibility for leaving the keys in the car and engine running. I’m not familiar with all the laws in NJ, all I know is that someone must have done something really stupid to make pumping your own gas illegal.

  12. johnlee, why are you so compelled to rub this woman’s nose in it? I’m sure she will be kicking herself for the rest of her life, and at the moment, she’s undoubtedly going through hell. And we can only hope the poor dog is OK.

If you’re even capable of it, try to conjure up a little compassion. I’m sure you’ve made mistakes that you’ve regretted.

  13. Hmm. It must have been stupider than the guy at the Sunoco in WO that told me to stop pumping my gas because it needed to be done by a professional, then went on to fill another guy’s tank while the motorist stood next to him smoking a cigarette. No kidding. Also, What makes you think that it is any kind of crime to leave your car running? It’s not. People aren’t supposed to steal your car. That’s the crime.

  14. Also, What makes you think that it is any kind of crime to leave your car running? It’s not. People aren’t supposed to steal your car. That’s the crime.
    ———————————————————————

    Yep!

  15. Off-target:

I always thought the reason that we are not allowed to pump our own gas had more to do with living in an over-regulated state than with the stupidity of our residents. Have you traveled outside of the the NY metro area much?

  16. Just want to say, I meant no criticism for Lovemydog’s cousin – she was indeed acting in the best interest of the dog. I get so angry when I see people leaving a dog in the car in the heat with the windows closed. It can be fatal. So yes, of course, she had every good intention, and one would hope that we could leave our car there for two minutes running while going into a store. I was saying this was really a lesson to all of us because I’m sure many people would think nothing like this could happen, and yet it does. My heart goes out to the dog’s owner and I can only imagine how upset she is. I can’t believe what a jerk would take someone’s car with the dog in it! You’d think he could at least have left the dog outside and then taken the car!

  17. Re: pumping our own gas – personally I love living in NJ. I have no desire whatsoever to pump my own gas. Buying gas is a pain as it is, having to stop and wait, but to have to get out of the car in any kind of weather and pump my own gas would be even more annoying! Yes, I’m a spoiled brat. 🙂

  18. mauigirl, it was very sobering for me because there’s a Krauszer’s across from the vet that I go to and I’ve quickly run in and out lots of times with a cat in the car. I’ve never left the motor running and always locked up, but who knows where my mind would have gone on a super hot day?

I don’t know how people can leave their dog in a car unattended for a long period of time. I’ve seen dogs in cars in King’s or Home Depot, and it’s mind-boggling…

  19. MM, I hope your comment wasn’t directed at me since I completely agree with your view that we live in an over-regulated state, and my natural impulse is to pump my own gas. My wife, however, likes it just fine for someone else to pump the gas. I just shared an anecdote in which the cretin told me to stop pumping my own gas, ostensibly because I wasn’t somehow uniquely qualified, and wait for him to get around to it. As he was telling me to wait, he was busy with another car while the owner stood next to him smoking!! You can’t make this stuff up.

  20. Maui: One of the things that blew my mind the first time I took a road trip to VT was how trusting people are outside of our area. Many of the pump-your-own stations were on the honor system: you pump first, pay later, not the other way around. Also, may of the roadside veggie stands were the same. There was a money box left next to the produce and not a human in sight. I guess it’s all what you grow up and are used to. I wish our are was more like VT in that way, where they don’t steal eevrything not nailed down.

  21. A bunch of us are visting the Upper Pioneer Valley / Eastern Berkshire Mountains in Massachusetts this weekend. On a previous trip, we found a roadside stand in Heath, MA, near the Vermont border selling the best maple syrup I have ever had. It was on the honor system, and at $32 a quart, that is a lot of honor. Take your syrup and slide the bills into the slot. (Of course Iceman slid his American Express Card in, but we got it back.)

On this trip, I was researching some farms up there looking for naturally raised lamb, and I came across one that has a store that is also on the honor system. Unbelievable.

  22. As much as it pains me to say this, there are lots of places in NJ that I just can’t envision having unattended gas pumps. Unfortunately I don’t think the honor system would work too well where people are willing to cars that are momentarily unattended, much less gas…

  23. UPDATE The car has been found in Newark but sadly the dog was not in it. We are all hoping the dog will end up in a shelter. Please keep praying!!
    Thank you

  24. Thank you for the update; I got so excited when I saw that you had posted and hoped Valentino had been recovered. More prayers and positive thoughts coming your way!

  25. The shelters have all been checked and rechecked. A story ran on CBS news last night & articles are on nj.com & northjersey.com. I have posted it on the pet section of Craigs List and the lost pets section of petfinders.com. A tiny bit of good news, the dog food that was in the back seat of the car is missing so we are hoping they are caring for and feeding Valentino. The police have not yet caught the car thief but there was some evidence in the car they are investigating. If anyone has any other suggestions please let me know!
    Thanks again

  26. Karen, I am so hoping and praying for good news.I keep coming back and checking, hoping there will be an update that he has been found.

  27. With some luck Valentino may be in a loving home where he is well attended and not locked in some stupid car.

  28. I will say a prayer for Valentino’s safe return…. maybe she should offer a reward?
i would be devastated as I am sure she is.
    I will keep checking…

  29. She is: “There is an award being offered for the pet’s return. Those with information can contact the Nutley Police Department at 973-284-4940.”

Saw her on FOX 5 last night. Said she doesn’t care about the car, she just wants her dog back. Broke my heart.

  30. last night she said she doesnt care about the car? They FOUND the car already! Did she offer to trade her car back to the theif for the dog?

  31. This is a thank you email I have just received from my cousin:

    Hi All-

Thank you for all of the flooding of Love and Support…. I can’t put into words the overwhelming feeling it is to have such a GREAT Network of
Family, Friends, Neighbors etc. Valentino and I are truly Blessed…I don’t know the outcome of this but I have puti it in Gods hands and I ask all of you to please do the same….This is GOD’s boy and he knows what is best for Valentino. I only pray that I will still be instrumental in that plan.

I know everyone feels helpless and wants to help, just loving him and praying is TRULY what We need. I know you are all connected to other great
people and so on. All this means is the more Universal Prayer that is for Valentino the better chance we have of getting him home safe.

I THANK each and every one of you from the bottom of my HEART for everything you have done and are continuing to do. Please pass this on to all of yours that have reached out and are trying to help..

    We Love You All!!

  32. To Jimmytown….the news clip was taped before they found the car. And I can tell she would happily trade the car for Valentino if given the opportunity. I don’t know if you are not a pet owner or animal lover or if you were just trying to be funny but maybe you should heed my mama’s long time words of wisdom…If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all!!

    Have a nice day

  33. If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all!!

You haven’t been reading Baristanet very long, have you?

And I’m with spectator. I guarantee you your dog would be much happier at home where he can take a nap or get a drink (which is more important on a hot day than air conditioning), than riding around in your car. Especially if this means you know you’ll be leaving him alone.

And kay, I find it particularly obnoxious when people insist on carrying their pets into places like 7-11 where food is served. There are good reasons why this is not alloweed.

  34. mike 91, I’m sure this woman wants nothng less than to have her dog home. Most of us on here are hoping for that, too. Desite everything she is going through, she was able to show some class and be gracious. Too bad others here couldn’t do the same.

  35. Damn, I was hoping to read that the little guy has been found. Praying for a happy ending.

  36. Good morning all! My cousin got a phone call this morning that someone saw Valentino in Weequahic Park in Newark. This would make sense since the car was found close to Beth Israel Hospital. We are keeping our fingers crossed & praying that this all works out. Thanks again for everyone’s interest & concern!!

  37. @Lovemydogs… OMG!! That’s good news, been praying all weekend 🙂 Was the dog seen with someone or on the loose. I’m willing to go there and help look. Please let us know more details and if help is needed.

  38. keep us posted! maybe some nice person picked him up and took him to safety 🙂

  39. If the dog was seen in the park, it may be helpful to have people take turns watching that area. Whoever has the dog must live close by and he/she probably walks Valentino there. I really hope he is found soon! Let me know what help is needed. Or did you mean the dog was seen loose?

  40. Maybe some missing dog / reward flyers Posted in the area would help. If someone has “adopted” the dog they may respond to a financial incentive, or they may be compelled to do the right thing out of fear that their swinish behavior will be exposed.

  41. I read on another page that Valentino was seen alone at the park last week. I was surprised because of the dog food being missing from the car. I thought for sure that the thief had the dog or was going to give him to someone else. Were there any other calls or just this one person saw him? I would hope that someone would help him if he was alone.

  42. If I were to find Valentino I would not return him. Giving him to a person who acted so irresponsiblity would be akin to allowing Casey Anthony to open a day care center.

Valentino is the victim here, not Miss Belleville.

  43. That’s really cruel, John. You don’t think this woman feels bad enough already? And to compare her with Casey Anthony? Casey Anthony deliberately murdered her child. This woman may have exercised poor judgment but the irony is that she had her dog’s best interest in mind by keeping the AC on in the car. If you’re human, chances are you’ve done something in your life that you’ve later regretted.

  44. Valentino is the victim here

Dude, you are free to opine all you want on murders and muggings, religion and politics, gays and lesbians and transgenders, racists and bigots, etc. But when it comes to dogs, you will toe the line.

  45. walleroo – please explain, I’m reading your comment as if you see that I am supporting the dog, but also see a hint of Jersey sarcasm there. Wanna make sure I’m reading you correctly.

  46. johnlee, if you’re so concerned about the dog, why don’t you join the people here who have offered to help look for him? I hope that when you make a well-intentioned mistake (as I’m sure you’ve already done in your life), you can find people who are big enough to show you more compassion than you’re showing this poor woman.

  47. gee Nellie, people have offered to help? I didn’t see any of y’all Weequahic Park looking for him when I was there. Offering something and doing something are two different things.

I’m on the side of the dog, not the careless person who allowed this to happen.

  48. While you may indeed be too young to stand humbly before your Maker, walleroo, I nonethelesss occasionally wish someone would steal a car with you in it. (Perhaps even after you’ve been picked up from having been spayed.) Both johnlee and myself, albeit for vastly different reasons, would probably not subsequently search the vicinity of Weequahic Park for you.

  49. Everyone screws up sooner or later. The woman made a mistake leaving her dog in a running car – a huge mistake. That being said, I’m sure she’ll never make it again. She just didn’t envision somebody stealing her car – she should have, but didn’t.

It is extremely cruel to suggest that she doesn’t deserve to have her beloved Valentino back, that’s she’s an ‘unfit’ dog owner. Making the comment “Giving him to a person who acted so irresponsiblity would be akin to allowing Casey Anthony to open a day care center.” is sophomoric. It reveals the commentator’s immaturity and shows a lack of civility, common sense, empathy and basic compassion.

The comment was disingenuous, designed to provoke outrage, and artless.

  50. actually MellonBush you are wrong, Miss Belleville should be brought up on animal cruelty charges; she acted without regard for another and her ability to care once again for that being left up to question; the dog is the victim her, all empathy goes toward Valentino

  51. Any news on this little guy? I keep hoping to learn he’s safely back home. That poor woman must be devastated. Still hoping and praying for a happy ending.

  52. Karen, I keep visiting a facebook page where a friend of the owner keeps updating us. As of last night there was no news. There were several people sent to the park to look for him but with no luck. I can’t stop thinking about this. It is so sad. I really hope they find him soon becuse he needs his medication. I wonder if the person who called was positive it was Valentino. I also read that the person saw him last week but I do not know what day.

  53. @Valentino’s famiy: Don’t lose hope. I once help track down a PAWS cat that escaped after one day of being adopted to a family in Newark. There was no sign of him for three weeks, and I thought he was a goner. Just when I lost hope, someone recognized him on a poster and got in touch. In the end, I adopted him and he’s been safe and sound in my house for three years. I predict the same happy ending for Valentino!

  54. I just found an update again. You may have already seen it but just in case. The owner’s friend said there is a lead for Valentino in Jersey City, NJ. She wanted this information shared. I have friends there because I used to teach in the area. I’m gonna spread the word. I keep praying for a happy ending!!!!!

  55. I didn’t see any update today. I left a copy of this at Queen of Peace h/s. I asked them to pass it to the students. They have summer school and there are kids from all over going there. Maybe someone will know something. I didn’t think of it till last we. I called one of the numbers, but I don’t know if it was passed on. I also made a comment on another site about a physic used by Nutley Police. You have to try every possibility. Please let us know any updates. I’m sure you have checked all possibilities and I pray every day for you and Valentino

  56. I haven’t seen anything on any of the posts. Has everyone given up, or did they find him? I called Bergen Cnty animal shelter, but Lisa would have to go and fill out missing pet papers. Please let me know what is going on.

  57. Judy, I have been very worried too because i have not seen anything. I’m not sure whatever came of the lead to Jersey City. I am going to keep checking for updates. I really hope that someone sees a poster and makes a call. Hopefully there are posters up in Jersey City.

  58. Thanks Jenny. I have been checking on line all am till now. The only little fellow that looks like Valentino is a dog named Micky picked up in Cherry Hill by SOS small dog rescue. I just hope that they found him. Keep in touch.

  59. There is an update I saw. He still has not been found. People are helping by looking at updated photos from shelters in hopes that someone brings him in.

  60. I can’t believe that people lost interest in this story. I have been calling and sending info. I hope he’s found safe. Anyone I can start a conversation with I tell them about him.

  61. Judy,
I am still interested and want to help. A lot of people are interested on the facebook page. Did you see the page (help valentino (little white dog) come home? People are writing back and forth with her friends but would like her to join so it is easier.

People want to provide direct help by handing out posters. I personally would like to get a group of people to go to Newark to put up posters in more areas.

  62. I put the Facebook page on my wall I also put it on the main ASPCA Facebook page. I have e-mailed various shelters and sites in NJ and Ny. I guess I feel helpless. I can’t believe he won’t give up the dog. I just hope he didn’t hurt him. I have only got myself more upset seeing all the animals that have no homes and all the ones that are lost.

  63. Judy, I agree with you that I am shocked he won’t give up the dog. He has enough street smarts to know that shelters do not question. He can drop the dog off and that would be the end of it. Unless maybe he sold it? I just hope he did not do anything heartless. There is no reason for that. If he really did not want the dog he could have just left it in the car.

  64. The thing is hasn’t he seen anything about this? Maybe he doesn’t realize there is a reward. Money is what they look for. He didn’t want the dog. He didn’ t even want the car. It makes no sense, unless he was doing it for a gang. But if he sold him, wouldn’t the person who bought himrealize it’s Valentino?

  65. This story I believe was only on the news once so for him to know he would need to see posters, the newspaper, or on the Internet. I would have to assume he knows something. I’m getting nervous because of the time that has gone by. She said the dog was sick and I do not know how long he can go without the medicine. I asked my vet and she said it depends on the severity of it. People on that facebook page are offering help. They are trying to have someone contact her because they would like to do posters etc.

  66. This am I printed the section above. I sent it to two vets in the area. They had no e-mail or fax. I also wrote above it that if someone came in with a dog the found bought or were given to please contact the Nutley police. I mailed them. We can only pray for the best.

  67. Judy,
I found that the post office themselves are very helpful. I heard from someone that the mail carriers help you distribute the missing posters when they do their routes. That would be great to do in Newark. Someone would have to know something.

  68. How great is that. Let’s find out and start. Let me know how to go about it. The sooner the better. I am still waiting for a reply from someone who said he found a small maltrse dog. I’m waiting cause I had to be a guest on his e-mail. This was Sunday. He still hasn’t replied. He also said the dog was male. I sent him the info and picture from this page.

  69. Where did he find the dog?
    https://newjersey.craigslist.org/pet/2504727291.html
    Click this link.

I looked up that there are 4 post offices in Newark. I want to give them a copy as well as nearby town like Orange, Union, etc. If they want me to make lots of copies, I can do that at my job. This is a great way to get to a lot of people because they cover all the streets. I am still shocked that he is not responding to this reward.

  70. I don’t know why he hasn’t got back to me.deltumibay22@gmail.com is his e-mail. You have to register as a guest to send an e-mail. If it’s the dog in Staten Island, I don’t think it’s Val. I’ll make copies and start sending them.

  71. I’ll e-mail him as well. Hopefully the post office will be a big help! Thank you so much for all your help! I really hope he is found. I am getting so nervous because I am shocked no one said anything yet and the reward is large? Isn’t that strange? I hope the dog is not hurt. There is no reason to hurt an innocent little dog.

  72. I contacted a few hip hop music stations and asked them to mention the stolen dog advertisement I attached in the body of the e-mail. I also put it on hearts radio station. Someone has to hear it.Let’s just hope they di
Hope they do it for me.

  73. That is a great idea for the music stations! I hope they do it. I have spent a lot of time this morning faxing post offices. I did Newark, Irvington, and East Orange.

  74. That’s great. No one made a reply. Ihearts sent me a message that this girl said I was spam. I disputed it and said I was trying to help find Valentino. I said I was trying to reach out to as many people that I could. So let’s see what happens.

  75. “There is no reason to hurt an innocent little dog.”

There is no reason but sadly the dog fighting rings steal little dogs to use as bait dog to train the fighting dogs. It is yet another reason why people aren’t suppose to leave their animals in a car or tied to a parking meter.

  76. That is the first thing I had thought of, but with some hope, we are trying other things. Maybe he was given to someone, or sold for a pet. Let us not loose hope and pray he was hurt or killed in some inhumane way!

  77. Judy,
I spent the morning faxing 30 more post offices not just in Newark but all nearby towns. People have tried so many things that I do not know what else to do. The situation is very sad.

Do you know of any groups/organizations in the Newark area that will help give out the fliers to different areas of Newark so we cover a lot of it?

  78. I dont’t know but I’ll call my vet later and find out. I mailed out some flyers to groomers in Newark and some in nearby towns. I can’t give up. Lisa keeps putting the plea on crags list. I don’t know what else to do.

  79. I’m not giving up either but I’m getting nervous now. I’m just praying he kept the dog or gave it to someone. If he keeps it well hidden, this is gonna be hard. I just hope nothing bad happened. I’m trying to cover all nearby towns because he may not live in Newark.

  80. Judy,
I am going to start mailing the flier to all grocery stores in Newark. It will take me a while because I googled that and there are loads of them! To begin with I will make sure I cover different districts of Newark so they are spread out. I am going to ask them to post it on the doors where people come and go. A cop I asked told me to do that because those places gets hundreds of people.

  81. Jenny,
How exactly are you going to do this? Are you going to e-mail them or actually physically going to mail. them? If you are going to mail them via postal service, it would be better to have a picture printed by one of those quick printing services. I want to help you let me know which way you are going to do this. If there is someone else out there willing to help us. Please let us know. I am sure we could use all the help on this one. Great idea!!!

  82. Jenny,
I found this on the regular Craigslist lost and found. I sent it to whoever it is that has the reward in the Pets Craiglist. I called the animal control in Livingston. Still waiting for the guy to call me back. Let’s hope something good comes of it.

A lost dog was in the Staples parking lot around 5:45pm today. It was beautiful and friendly and seemed very lost. It was approached me as I got in the car as if it was desperate to have someone take it.

I called the Livingston Police to pick it up. If you lost your dog, please call the police or animal control at 973-992-3000 and name the breed to claim it.

    Thanks

  83. Judy,
I did not see any e-mails so I am going to physically mail them. I took the information for Valentino from Craigslist, https://newjersey.craigslist.org/pet/2504727291.html and I made a lot of copies at my job. I am going to attach a note asking them to please post this on the doors where people go in and out. I appreciate your help because I have a lot to cover. When you google grocery stores in Newark you will see a lot. I got this idea from Newark police and it makes sense.

  84. Jenny,
Why not call and see if they have a fax b/4 you mail. I’ll start at the end. If they have a fax a e-mail I’ll do that b/4 mailing. How is that?

  85. You are right. Even though it is not online, they may have a fax number or e-mail. That would be faster and easier. I will call first. You are starting on the very last page? Is that still Newark stores or East orange? I will start at the beginning page 1 and so forth. Keep me updated on your page number so we do not overlap. Thank you so much!

  86. Thank you very much Judy! The more info we get out there about him, the better chance of someone knowing something. I saw on another page that there is an oliver alert posted for him as well.

I’m sorry, I can’t do this. I’m going to have to get copies made. I can’t make copies at work. The people I called for fax or email, were so unfriendly. One guy even used some nasty words. That web site only went to a. How dumb.

  89. You are right. I called too and they do not want to be bothered. I already mailed quite a bit today. I hope they put them up. People are very out of line for no reason. I can make a lot of copies at my job.

  90. Judy,
I mailed more out. I’m hoping someone knows something. It seems like no one knows anything about it.

I know you are doing the stores. I just mailed out flyers to resident on the streets that go around route 78. I didn’t send them to everyone. I did a house then jumped a few and did odd and even. On the envelope I put $1,000.00 (one-thousand) Reward for dog see enclosed. I highlighted $1,000.00 and reward. Maybe even the postman or woman will look. I mailed them this morning.I have a group, Therapy Dogs International sending out flyers and notifying people. I know this girl and she asked me to send her a copy of the flyer. I hope we get something. I’ve sent info on dogs found and more shelters, but they weren’t him. I hope he’s still alive! I pray for the little guy. I’ll try to get some stores done.

  92. Judy,
Thank you so very much for all your help!!! Mailing residents is a great idea. As I mentioned earlier, I faxed all post offices a copy. I am working on stores but could definitely use help cause there are so many. I want to jump ahead on the pages and focus on larger stores like Path Mark. A lot of people go in and out there. I hope he is OK too. I’m trying to do everything quickly because of his medical condition. I do not know how long he can survive without the medication.

  93. Jenny and Judy, thank you for staying on this and for trying to find him. I keep hoping to hear good news. I am not giving up.

  94. Judy,
This is great! We need flyers in different areas of Newark. Hopefully they can help cover more.

If she does not receive calls after all this, I wonder if he is in another nearby town like Orange. The person was on foot in Nutley and could have just gone to Newark to meet a friend. He may not have kept the dog there. What do you think?

The girl Carol from Facebook suggested that the help on the sight try Union and towns around Newark. Hopefully, something pops up and he is found.

  96. I agree totally about all nearby towns. I will work on stores there as well. Any help we can get sending fliers will be great. Maybe people on the facebook page you are on can help us.

  97. Judy,
I see on the facebook page that people want you to post a flier we have been using. Tell them it is the craigslist information. It is important to send out ther same flier that Lisa has put online. I asked a cop friend of mine in Newark and he said that if people start making up their own fliers, it may confuse people. It is important to use the same flier the owner has put out so people are not confused. If they want an updated flier from the owner, tell them to ask Shannon on that facebook page. She is good friends with the owner. She can attach another flier if there is one.

I did a made a copy of the address for craigslist of the one we have been using and said they could go there for the flyer. I hope and pray this works.

  99. Judy,
I heard from someone in Newark who is friends with the owner. She does not want anyone sending fliers or any information. This is because it could interfere with leads already in place. Let’s just hope for a happy ending. Thank you for a happy ending. Please let people on the facebook page know not to send anything. If they want to, they need to ask Lisa first.
