Two Drug Dealers Arrested in Montclair

This just in from the Montclair police:
Drug Arrest
On 06-10-11 at approximately 8:00 pm, detectives observed Darrell Johnson , who was known to have a $243.00 warrant out of Glen Ridge, walking north on Maple Avenue in the area of Glenfield Middle School. Upon approaching Johnson, he attempted to flee but was quickly placed into custody. During the course of the investigation, 14 zip-lock bags of crack were seized.

Johnson, 42, of Montclair, was charged with possession and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance (crack), distribution of a controlled dangerous substance within one thousand feet of Glenfield Middle School and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance within five hundred feet of Glenfield Park. Bail was set at $75,000.

Drug Arrest
During the month of January, 2011, members of the Montclair Police Narcotics Bureau conducted an investigation that identified Charles Peters with selling approximately 1 gram of cocaine to an undercover officer in the area of Chestnut Street and Forest Street. Peters was charged with possession and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance (cocaine), distribution of a controlled dangerous substance within one thousand feet of Montclair High School and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance within five hundred feet of Rand Park.

On 06-10-11, Peters, 27, of Montclair, was arrested by the New Jersey State Police and turned over to the Montclair Police Department for the listed charges. Peters was held on a $35,000 bail and sent to the Essex County Jail.
