Suzanne Moyers with her children, SaraJane and Jassi Martin, on the balcony of their inn, atop the San Andreas Fault.

Yes…it’s true. Our family is traveling along the California coast line, and had just checked into our latest inn on San Andreas Road in Aptos when we heard the news of your quake. Yes, that’s right: our lovely little resort is right atop the San Andreas fault line, and was at the epicenter of the big 1989 quake. My 10-year-old future ambulance chaser son said: “Leave it to us to miss an earthquake in our own backyard while we’re sitting on top of one!” And now we may be forced to remain in San Francisco at least an extra day because of the hurricane…(there are worse places to be stranded, I know!). At any rate, we are glad Baristaville was spared damage from the quake, and are sending best wishes to all as the hurricane heads your way.

  1. Obviously very good friends with someone at Baristanet. With all the stuff going on around here in the past week, this family’s summer vacation is news why exactly?
