Feel-Good Foodie Events: A Tasteful Experience, Girls Who Cook for Louie’s Kids

“A Tasteful Experience,” Clara Maass Medical Center Foundation’s annual fall event on Monday, November 14, offers a way to taste the best area chefs have to offer in an opulent setting like no other — the elegant Pleasantdale Chateau. Think Grey Goose flowing through ice sculpture, fine wines and chefs working side by side to show off their culinary chops — all to help fund a newly expanded state-of-the-art Cancer Center at Clara Maass. Plus — there will be those incredible Fascino/Bar Cara mascarpone polenta fries! Here’s a taste tease from the organizers:

With Stamna’s moussaka and spanakopita; Fascino’s mascarpone polenta fries with gorgonzola dipping sauce; sushi rolls and braised pork belly with Hoisin ice cream from Above Restaurant & Bar; mini-cheesecakes from Anthonys Cheesecake, and cupcakes galore from Stuffed Cupcakes, the only question is HOW are we going to eat it all?!

Last year’s event was a fantastic opportunity for local food lovers to meet area chefs and taste incredible creations all for a terrific cause. This year, Baristanet, as a proud media sponsor, is excited to share the tantalizing line up of area restaurants and beverage purveyors donating their time and talent, including these local favorites: Anthony’s Cheesecake, Bar Cara, Bistro 18, Blu, Costanera Cocina Peruana, CulinAriane, Fascino, Fin Raw Bar & Kitchen, Gencarelli’s Bakery, Mesob, Miss Nicky’s Gourmet Toffee, The Orange Squirrel, Osteria Giotto, Raymond’s, Salute Bistro, Senorita’s Mexican Grill, Stamna Greek Taverna, Toast and Upstairs Restaurant. Don’t miss this memorable, one-of-a-kind food experience — get your tickets.

In addition to participating in A Tasteful Experience, Culinariane’s Ariane and Michael Duarte are lending a hand as part of Girls Who Cook For Louie’s Kids — a fundraising dinner at Culinariane on Tuesday, Nov. 15. Find out more about this special evening, featuring Chefs Amanda Freitag (from the Food Network show CHOPPED) and Carla Hall (from ABC’s new afternoon show, The Chew) on Barista Kids.

Sad. Let's hope that this is not its "Last Tango." One of the most beautiful and iconic buildings in town. Valentino, Garbo, Keaton must have played there.
