Realtor Nick Baldwin is worried about the dogs and cats whose owners get foreclosed on, so he’s organized a special charity for holiday season. The Four Legged Food Drive, which will run from Nov. 21 through Dec. 23, will set up collection points for pet food.

I have been working on something very special over the past couple of weeks and I would like to reveal it to everyone today. With New Jersey being #14 on the list of states with the most foreclosures, human beings aren’t the only ones suffering. Family pets are often neglected as well. They are left behind, underfed, and malnourished due to the financial toll it takes on their families to feed them while they are struggling to make ends meet and feed their own children. In fact, one in five pets are discarded by owners in the foreclosure process. Being the owner of a 70 pound Boxer, I know how much pet food can cost these days ($150 a month for Barney!). That’s why I decided to start the Four Legged Food Drive this holiday season, from November 21st – December 23rd. We are in the process of obtaining food drop-off locations all over town, and along with our Keller Williams office, we have already secured Yoga Montclair on Forest St. in Montclair. We have also been fortunate enough to partner with the Human Needs Food Pantry of Montclair who will distribute the food to the families that need it.
