TED Comes to Montclair

Time to get the ideas flowing. TED is coming to town.

TEDxMontclair, an independently organized TED event, will take place tomorrow, Nov. 5, at Montclair State University. The theme of the event is “Eat. Play. Live…”

Baristaville resident Dana Jennings, Assistant Editor of the New York Times Sunday Arts & Leisure section, will be the host/moderator of the event. Speakers will include CBS Correspondent Jim Axelrod; Jay Jacobs, brand strategist and recent “Biggest Loser” contestant; Alma Schneider of Take Back The Kitchen and author Eric Weiner. (Click here for a list of more speakers.)

Organizers advise arriving right when registration opens at 9:30 so that you can snatch a seat before the program begins at 10:15 sharp. The event runs until 3:30, but if you can’t attend, you can watch it live on streaming video at tedxmontclair.org.

The original TED began in California 26 years ago as a conference designed to bring together people in the fields of technology, entertainment and design. Devoted to “ideas worth spreading,” the nonprofit organization has two annual conferences and has inspired hundreds of local TEDx events like our own in Montclair.
