Lots to do again in Baristaville and beyond this weekend. It’s getting harder and harder to choose from all the fun, family events. We told you about the Dan Gutman at the MPL, Maplewood’s Dickens Village events, SVPA’s Showcase 2012, Santa Photo-op events, Hanukkah events and Suzi Shelton’s Rockin’ Holiday Party in Brooklyn, but there’s more!

Check our Upcoming Events to find out all the happenings and details. Also, if you haven’t already, sign up for our newsletter to get some great deals and find out about more great events ans subscribe to our daily newsletter so you don’t miss a thing on Barista Kids. Here are this weekend’s highlights:

Take the kids to a puppet show at Aunt Jean’s Toys & Treats. (Friday, December 9)

Drop the kids off at The Little Gym’s Parents’ Survival Night and go out to dinner. They’ll have fun and you’ll get an adult-only night out! (Friday, December 9)

See a show! Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn offers A Christmas Carol, the New Jersey Dance Center in Maplewood offers The Nutcracker, Luna Stage in West Orange offers Moo-Moo’s Magical Winter Holidays and Studio Playhouse in Montclair offers Poultry in Motion. All the shows are perfect for families with young children. (Saturday, December 10) On Sunday, check out Babes in Toyland at William Paterson’s Shea Center (Sunday, December 11)

Sign the kids up for a holiday gift making workshop so they can give you a present they made with their own hands. Javier Santiago Woodworking School in Montclair offers a workshop for kids ages 6 and older and Pooka Boutique in Orange offers a workshop for girls of all ages. Or, take the kids to the Geyer Family YMCA and make delicious chocolate for the holidays at the Chocolate Making Family Workshop. (Saturday, December 10)

If you haven’t visited, you really should see Turtle Back Zoo’s Holiday Lights Spectacular. My family had a great time on opening night. (Sunday, December 11)

More handbell! Take the family to the Montclair Public Library to here a handbell concert by the children of St. Paul’s Baptist Church (Sunday, December 11)

Have a great weekend!
