Chicken Boy: The Amazing Adventures of a Super Hero With Autism Makes the Final Round

Back in November, we told you about Gregory G. Allen’s picture book idea title Chicken Boy: The Amazing Adventures of a Super Hero With Autism. The book was inspired by his godson Gabe who has autism.

Greg entered Chicken Boy: The Amazing Adventures of a Super Hero with Autism in a competition to get a children’s book published and it received over 2,000 votes in the first round, which included 400 story ideas! Now narrowed down to just 14 stories, the Final Round will run until February 21. The winner will get his or her book idea published, $1500 in cash and a library donated ot the school of his/her choice. Gabe’s school, Radcliffe Elementary in Nutley, will benefit IF the book is chosen as a winner.

  1. Talk about bad timing, just when the American Psychiatric Association is revising its definition of the disorder to focus on only the most affected individuals, they may need to change the title.

    It’s amazing how parents today argue and make it public that their children have disabilities. When I was a kid long ago, I had tons of issues and my parents kept on telling me and everyone else I was normal. I still have issues, but I think that is the norm.
