Montclair’s Stephen Colbert sat down with famous children’s author Maurice Sendak, best known for his book Where the Wild Things Are, to discuss the state of children’s literature and things get pretty wild.

About “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie,” Sendak says, “Ick. You should open the door and say ‘Get the hell out of house!'” On E-books, Sendak says, “F*ck them as well, I say! I hate E-books!”

In the end, Colbert shares his idea for his own children’s book called I Am a Pole (And So Can You!), which Sendak likes it and gives him advice on how to sell it.
