Montclair Crime: Stolen Wedding Rings

From the Montclair Police Department:


On 3/14/2012 at 1805 hours, Police were dispatcher to 35 Lackawanna Plaza (The Pathmark), on the report of a shoplifter in custody. Upon arrival Police met with security officers who advised them that they observed a male subject placing items in his jacket. The male then attempted to leave the store without paying.

Mr. Christopher Romano, a Newark resident, was then transported to headquarters and charged with shoplifting.


On 3/14/2012 at 1359 hours, Officers responded to Frink Street on the report of a theft. The victim reported that an unknown subject had stolen a computer modem, valued at $100.00 from under her desk. There were no signs of forced entry to the business and no suspects at this time. 

On 3/15/2012 at 1108 Hrs, a Montclair resident, who resides on Park Street, came into Police Headquarters to report a theft that occurred at his residence. The victim stated that back in February he and his wife noticed that both their wedding rings were missing, as well as his wife’s engagement ring. The rings are valued at $18,000.00 dollars. The victim reported no signs of forced entry nor do they have any suspects.
