After having its application denied for the fifth time in January 2012, Quest Academy, a proposed charter high school that would serve Montclair, is not giving up the fight and applying for the sixth time.

Founder Tracey Williams tells us:

We are challenging the last denial. All items that were identified as missing from the application are not missing. I checked the application against all issues cited, line by line, and found all statements to be false. This is very frustrating because the State has acknowledged that we have presented a plan that would make a good school, yet we are continually denied despite that fact.  So, I guess we will see what the Judge has to say. In the meantime, we are still collecting input regarding the next application cycle.  Email us your comments.

Quest has faced opposition from Montclair’s Superintendent, Dr. Frank Alvarez, as well as from local residents.

  1. Christie, Cerf, and Trenton need to LISTEN and LISTEN now :

No more shoving charter schools down the throats of local residents and taxpayers without first obtaining voter approval of the majority.

This charter school is not wanted in Montclair, and will end up bleeding the town drier than it already is.
