On 04/08/2012, Officers responded to a Grove Street residence on report of a theft from a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with the caller who reported that she came out to her vehicle to find that the front passenger side tire had been stolen from her vehicle. The vehicle was found with a concrete block under the rotor where the tire was missing. The tire was taken between 1300 hrs on Saturday April 7. Anyone with information should contact DSgt. W. On 04/06/2012 at 2200 Officers responded to a Highland Avenue address on report of a burglary which occurred between the hours of 1530 and 2150 hrs on this date. A glass pane was broken out of a rear door to afford entry to the residence. Several articles of jewelry were taken. Anyone with information should contact Det. T. Turner at 973-509-4724
On 04/08/2012 at 1700 hrs, Officers were dispatched to an Upper Mountain Avenue address on report of a burglary believed to have occurred between 04/06/2012 at 1700 hours and 04/08/2012 at 1700 hours. Jewelry appears to have been the target of this burglary; however it is undetermined at this time. Anyone with any information should contact Det. T. Turner at 973-509-4724.
On 04/08/2012, Officers were dispatched to the area Forest Street on report of a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival of Officers, two vehicles were found damaged. One vehicle, a Nissan Altima and the other a Toyota SUV which was parked. Officers determined that a party found standing in the area was operating the Nissan and struck the parked Toyota. This party was identified as one Brandon Brown, a 25 year old Montclair man. Subsequent to the on-scene investigation Brown was placed under arrest and charged with DWI and related offenses. The owner of the other vehicle was notified accordingly. The vehicle Brown was operating was later reported as a vehicle taken without permission. It was a rental vehicle in the possession of a person known to Brown. Brown was charged further with the theft of the vehicle.
On 04/08/2012 at approx 0600 hrs, Officers observed a vehicle disregard a traffic control device in the area of South Fullerton Avenue and Gates Avenue. Officers initiated a motor vehicle stop on this vehicle by activating emergency lights and sirens in a marked patrol vehicle. The operator of the suspect vehicle failed to yield to the Officers attempt to stop him. The vehicle was then followed into East Orange where it finally stopped. The operator was identified as Giancarlo Ligotti, a 23 year old Staten Island man. He was placed under arrest at that time for Eluding Police and subsequently charged with DWI and related offenses that include – DWI in a School Zone, Failure to Observe Traffic Signals, Reckless Driving, Driving the Wrong Way on a One Way Street, Maintenance of Lamps.
