Bloomfield Police Blotter: Burglary, Robbery, Criminal Mischief

BURGLARY

6-12-2012 – On the 900 block of Broad St. a burglary victim stated that his Apple Laptop was taken from his Apt. No other items were taken. Pry marks were found on door.

6-13-2012 – On Dodd St. a brick was thrown through the window of a door on a business the thief took approximately 10 cell phones. A Hispanic male, 5’8” tall with a thin build was seen in the area.

6-14-2012 – On Claremont Ave. there was an attempted burglary of a residence as the homeowners found a side door window broken and one of two locks opened. Entry was not gained.

6-15-2012 – On Washington St. a black male suspect gained entry to the building by removing the air conditioning unit and going through the window. Two cell phones were taken.

BURGLARY INTO AUTO

6-11-2012 – On the 200 block of N 15St. a 1997 Nissan was broken into and some loose change was taken.

6-13-2012 – On the 100 block of Baldwin St. a 2007 Cadillac was broken into and an EZ Pass was taken.

6-16-2012 – On Ella St. a 2002 Ford pick up truck had tools taken from the bed of the truck.

STOLEN VEHICLE

6-13-2012 – On North Spring St. a 2000 Dodge with NJ license plates was stolen.

6-16-2012 – On Berkeley Ave at the corner of Franklin St. a 1994 Honda with NJ license plates was stolen.

6-16-2012 – On Essex Ave. a 2008 Cadillac with NJ license plates was stolen.

6-15-2012 – On Alfred Lane a 1998 Audi with NJ license plates was stolen.

ATTEMPT THEFT AUTO

6-13-2012 – On Vernon Terrace someone attempted to steal a 2000 Jeep.

THEFT

6-14-2012 – On Coeyman Ave. 4 postal packages were stolen off of a porch.

6-16-2012 – At 8 Franklin St. the victim reported her wallet was taken while she was shopping.

ROBBERY

6-14-2012 – At 2:00 am in the area of 270 Bloomfield Avenue, The Jeanette Apartments 4 victims were approached from behind by 3 black males who assaulted them and demanded their belongings. The first victim who was grabbed from behind gave the suspect her Coach purse valued at $200. The purse contained $10.00 in cash and various forms of identification. The second victim was also grabbed from behind only the suspect that grabbed her put his fingers to her neck as if it were a gun. No real gun was ever seen nor mentioned by the suspects. The suspect told victim # 2 “give me everything you have” to which she responded “I don’t have anything” so the suspect let her go. Victim # 3 was able to run away and go to her apartment. There was a male victim with the 3 female victims who was not robbed however he did offer his wallet to the suspects so they would leave the females alone. Because the wallet had no money in it the suspects did not take it. Al of the suspects ran east on Bloomfield Ave. toward Newark.
The suspects were described by the victims as follows:

Black male, approximately 20 years old, 5’7” tall, medium build, white tee shirt, blue jeans and black nylon skull cap.
Black male, approximately 20 years old, 5’9” tall, medium build, dark gray hooded shirt, dark colored pants, shoulder length dread lock hair style.
Black male, approximately 20 years old, 5’8” tall medium build, red fitted hat
The incident is actively being investigated by the Bloomfield Police Department Detective Bureau.

6-14-2012 0- A short time before the robbery at 270 Bloomfield Ave at 12:13 am a lone female victim was robbed when she arrived home and walked onto her property on the 300 block of Ampere Parkway. The victim was approached by 2 black male suspects who approached her from behind and grabbed her red and black St. Vincents lunch bag along with her black leather purse before running away on foot north on Ampere Parkway. When the suspects got approximately 10 houses away from the scene they got into a small black vehicle occupied by 1 black male driver and then drove off north on Ampere Parkway to Bloomfield Ave.
The suspects in this robbery were described as follows:
Black male, 5’8” tall, medium build, dark jean shorts, skull cap.
Black male, long jeans, dark clothing
No description as this suspect remained in the vehicle.

Officers searching the area for the suspect’s and evidence found a wallet belonging to the victim a short distance from the crime scene on Ampere Parkway. After being checked for fingerprint evidence the wallet along with its contents were returned to the victim.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

6-17-2012 – On Williamson Ave. there was damage found on a door lock of parked vehicle.

ARRESTS

6-12-2012 – Norma Walker of Montclair was arrested for Shoplifting.

6-12-2012 – Isaac Burr of East Orange was arrested for Poss & Distribution of CDS.

6-13-2012 – Edgar Cuevas of Bloomfield was arrested for Contempt.

6-14-2012 – Justin Voohrees of Bloomfield was arrested for Contempt.

6-15-2012 – Brett Guarino of West Orange was arrested for DWI.

6-16-2012 – Derek Hyppolite of Montclair was arrested for Poss. Of CDS.
